comp setup question....

ok so ive had my comps in for about a week now and today i just now noticed that there are holes in the door from the stock speakers.Would that be messing with my sound quality at all cause there are like 4 holes around each mid????

one way to help preserve the sound of a mid bass is use a speaker cup / baffle,

it acts like a little enclosure behind the speaker it self so the rear of the cone is not playing into a door cavity which is full of holes and funky surfaces

completely seperate the front soundwaves from the rear----in other words----if your doors have any holes----deaden the holes----try to make your doors as airtight as the front baffle of a sub enclosure---the midbass will be alot better and clean up the upper midrange also----plus no weird harmonic vibrations.

well i would try baffles but they already barely fit now without some custom work just because of how the stock holes were, any other ways i could seal it up???

you can sound deaden over the holes, Second Skin makes a great product, and everyone knows Dynamat

Thin plywood, expansion foam, plexiglass and so on. If you aren't putting them in an enclosure that is sealed or ported you should do your best to make them an infinite baffle install. The better the sealing off of the back half of the door from the inside the better it will sound. It won't hurt the road noise either!

After sealing it all up using sound deadener will then bring them to life.....making them truly IB and deadening will do a LOT more than upgrading your amp to solve your "flatness' problem.
