Need some suggestions with choosing subs.

My system currently is 2 10" type r's

looking to upgrade them to 2 12"s

got a 1000w kenwood amp and will upgrade amp soon

I'm stuck between 2 MTX TS8512's or 2 Sundown Audio SA-12's

Just looking for some help with my new system.

Not at all familiar with those MTX subs but the Sundown SA-12's in a properly aligned and built enclosure will be impressive. Figure 2ft^3 per driver net and tune somewhere between 33-38hz for a great daily setup.

The sundowns are 600 RMS and the MTX's are 750 RMS. I just dont know!!

RMS doesnt mean one sub will be better than the other.

The sa-12 is a better built sub. As well they can probably handle 750w better than the mtx.

If I was in your place I'd definatly get the sundowns. Honestly I'd just rather be able to say iv got sundown subs. Instead of mtx...
