hard call both are amazing subs.

i guess your goals would be the breaker.... the zcon is a self proclaimed SQ sub.

the nightshade V2 is a beast but little SQ its an SPL sub thru and thru

EDIT : i strike my comment about the zcon being a self proclaimed SQ sub it was a miss understanding on my part.

chicken are you planing the same build as me? :peepwall: im going with ssa zcon 15 and saz 2500. just cause of the sq / spl hard to find both in the same sub. made in USA is an added bonus. just my 2 cents. good luck on the build we want pics.

Ask around I guess. Zcons do sound good on music and still blow others away in SPL.

How are they not? Splain that to me....HOMES! lol

After giving it a second thought I'll have to admit I might be wrong. I will say that I would rather have the ZCON. I'm not bashing Sundown at all but is nice knowing what you're getting is American made. That being said, both are great drivers.

Not to butt in here, but we do not claim that the ZCON is an SQ sub. In fact, we have said the opposite of that. The ZCON was designed with brutal output in mind, while sounding good. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks.

swear i have seen you say "not bad for an SQ sub" when people post results... but perhaps i was wrong.

does sound great on music tho. right behind your head in a wall.. somthing i think most subs have a problem with.

EDIt: i looked back where i thought i remember you saying that i could not find it.. im sorry for the misleading remarks i made, i dont want to me known as that guy.... so i re track my statement. but in no way was it negative to SSa or the Zcon sub,.

Really is impossible to recommend which one will be louder. Just to many variables to consider.

I do know that I can't even tell you how many Sundown setups I have seen that put up ridiculous numbers.

Just because it's made outside the USA, means nothing.

Same thing when saying it's built in the USA, that doesn't mean that the product is good.

But in these cases, if you look at quality, both are good quality. They won't break down easily.

Not true at all .... Magnet slugs are imported from overseas.

SSA is proudly built in USA as are the Sundown sub woofers. Both great USA Based companies.
