Why would you assume that no manufacturer would produce a sub that doesn't sound good. That's like saying that no director would make a movie that sucks

Because the word "good" is subjective.

Exactly, a company may have a SPL oriented sub that they think sounds good for what it is supposed to be. It may be complete crap to everyone else. It all depends on thought process.

On another note, the Zcon is a really nice sub plus if your worried about price. If you buy one sub you get the 10% store credit back for the next purchase, but I don't know if it expires. I don't think it would atleast.

As for value (ie performance per dollar) in it's general class, the Zcon is a good value. The quality and work that goes into the Zcon is quite high.
