Good for what?

I mean using it as a crossover between tweeters and mids not active.

No.

What do you recommend?

Something really expensive would probably do the trick, just to cover all bases.

Why don't you give us a little more information as to what exactly your trying to accomplish, and provide a budget.

So your only using two types of speakers, 2-way.

Check out the rockford 360.2. It requires a laptop with bluetooth / pda bluetooth / etc for tuning though.

You may find it easiest to get a head unit that's capable of doing the processing. Others will have to talk about which models do what, that I do not know.

So a equalizer wont work.

An equalizer allows you to attenuate and boost bands / sections of the frequency range.

A processor may be capable of multiple things: Time Alignment, EQ(equalizer), digital crossover system for speakers (crossover points and slopes), and some have their own "auto tune" algorithm.

You need to be able to apply filters to your speakers, so speaker A plays from x to y, and speaker B plays from y to z. BASIC description.

So isnt a processor what i need for my application

Yes, but the kicker kx3 is limited to what it can filter.

The most popular radios for running Active are the PRS units from Pioneer Premier.

800PRS

880PRS

P99RS

and the new 80PRS.

All can run active and have a minimum 16Band L/R separate adjustable EQ.

Finding a headunit that can do it is the cheapest way you'll get it done.

I have a premier head unit that has a bunch of time alignment eq and a ton more I have been tweaking it for years. I actually find it kinda useless. Once I enable the time alignment it turns to shit no matter what I do. Maybe something's not set up right?

The less T/A and EQing you need the better, but unless your setup is perfect, it should help. That is if you use it correctly.
