Whew! I hope someone appreciates this one! I'm getting < 6 hours of sleep tonight just to go stand out in the freezing cold for this picture! Took over an hour of practicing to get the right shot.

Two photos! First was just one of many practice shots with an extremely high ISO setting so that I could get the focusing right. Shutter speed = 30 seconds at 3.5 f/stop (lowest my lens will go) and 6400 ISO (highest that goes too!). I'm including it for two reasons, 1st because of the shooting star it caught and 2nd so that you can see that the lights really were in focus and that I didn't do a hack job smile.pngSecond is pretty much the real shot. Shutter speed = 10 minutes 3 seconds. 3.5 f/stop. 200 ISO.

Enjoy!

(Bonus for whoever can tell me what the hell is making the orange light on the horizon... it was 1:30 am and we were facing due north. the Moon maybe?)

I'm not sure if i put this in, but i do not photoshop any of my works. It's not that I'm technically insufficient, it's just that I'm much more into the composition of the frame and all that artsy bullshit.

That being said, I've done a lot of darkroom "photoshopping" so that kind of throws my whole "composition of the frame" out the window.... haha.

I've enrolled in an introduction to photography class at my local community college... it will be the third time i've taken a course like this. I was thinking about the advanced course, but really i just want the Humanities credits and as much access to a darkroom as possible. So I figured an advanced course would require more time and thought process to find a good shot. Thus! I will be bored as hell in class, but have access to a darkroom! YAY :)

Oh also, daddy's new lease. Plan on doing some artistic shots with it when i have more time with it and its more sunny :) but still, wanted to post a photo

That is just a dried up puddle. We had rain and then intense heat and I think that's what formed those shapes. They are relatively small, about half a fist size.

Here is another sunset!

Would anyone like to see a boat powered by 4 supercharged v-12's which got the world speed record in 1932?

It only produces 8,000 hp...... no big deal.....

Thanks! That last picture realllllllllllllly makes me contemplate doing some very minor HDR photography since I couldn't seem to get rid of the compromise :(

I also REALLY need an external flash
