Recommended Posts

title says it all, if you had $400 to spend on 2 10in. subs, what would you get? and this is for daily use btw.

I assume you're looking for advice for your own system. If that is the case, you can help us out by telling us what car you have, the dimensions of the space you're willing to dedicate to your sub stage, what amplifiers you have (if any), what enclosure you have (if any), etc.

Someone could name some really nice subs, but they might not work in your particular situation.

Gonna have RAM designs come out with some plans for a box that fits in a 87' single cab toyota pick up. He says he can get me about 1.5 cubic feet ported enclosure for each sub(before displacements). I am short so I have alot of space behind my seat...an abnormal amount and is no problem fitting 2 10's back there with ease. My amp is a JL audio 1000/1v2 slash series.

First we need to know if you sit on pillows while you drive.

Two SSD's should do the trick and will give you room to grow should you wish to add more power later. Then much later if you really want you can even recone the drivers to something bigger if you so wish.

But in all honesty I think if you play with driver and port direction you could likely get away with a single sub (maybe 15)that will cost you nearly half as much. But I suspect then you will come back and ask again... So if you must spend 400bux id still go with a single driver setup.

Then again a single 12 4th BP will be a good option too in that space.

The new Sundown Audio SD-2 subwoofers are a nice option for standard cab trucks!
