high output alternator????

i have 97 gmc yukon and i was wondering if anyone know where to get a good high output alternator for under 300. i would like it to be 250 amps

You won't find one that cheap unless you buy used.

i got mine for around that price new, i did a load test and a 240 amp alt was proven to be 238 ( the most load i could present at the time)

Look used at alts or mechman has a few closeout alts for sale, a 250 amp for 299 and 200 amp alts for 199

I have I also cut the cord for the knob that adjusts the voltage, I wanted to be able to change voltage without having to get out the car.

Ive noticed a few that dont work out like my tahoe for one.

You can add a variable resistor on one of the sensing leads of the alt to raise the voltage. Not all work like that however,
