sa15 ported enclosure help

Recommended Posts

Ok so here's the deal...I ordered 2 sa15's 2ohm and a saz-1500d v2

The ported size is 3-4 cubes so I found a ported box that had 3.05 cu ft for each sub and tuned at 29hz...so come to find out that's the gross cu ft and it has 2.55 per sub, so my question is...is this box waaay to small for what I have?

If so there is a audio place near by I could

have build me a custom box....so if I go this route what do you guys think on a box? It will be my everyday driver and im just lookn for some hard hitn bass, for all tyeps of music but mainly hip/hop, rap....not to concerned

with db numbers. I know you guys have played with many different boxes and tuning so just point me where I need to be!!! :-)

This will be in a dodge magnum, so subs up ports back? Thanks for any input you guys throw at me!!! Thanks again!!

Yes that enclosure will be to small. Actually I would up the tuning to around 35hz and go with roughly 7ft^3 net.

With your style of vehicle the cabin gain will accenuate the low bass frequencies. Up fire the subs and rear fire the port so it loads against the rear cargo area.

BTW you should have gone with dual 4 ohm so that you can run your amp at 1 ohm mono. With dual 2 ohm your only able to run it at .05 ohm, 2 ohm or 8 ohm.

Contact Bromo here for a great enclosure design and you can build it yourself and save some $$$ :drink40:

That box must be crap if the port is only displacing about .5ft^3 and tuned to 29 hz lmao.

I guess...im new to the porting and tuning stuff so I don't understand all of it yet but been doing alot of reading....im just glad there's forums like this for guys like me who don't really know! But after research I don't think I went wrong with going with sundown audio! Sounds like he has great products as well as customer service...hard to beat that!
