box help for 1 zcon 15 in the truck

Recommended Posts

i should have the money soon for the zcon 15 so i want to start getting ideas and thoughts on a box size for the sub. im putting it in my '95 ranger. for electric, i have a iraggi 260amp alternator, big 3, shuriken bt60 bat. and all 0 gauge wiring. i have a audioque 3500.1 that i will be running at 2 ohm (should have 2000watts which is plenty for 1 zcon 15) reason being is that it will be much easier on my electrical, and easier on the amp as well. im more for SQ on this build for those wondering. i love the low lowsss haha. i havent found any box recommendations so im looking for a bit of help. any is appreciated! :drink40:

I haven't seen any that I remember specifically for the Zcon but there are boxes for the xcon/icon/dcon if you follow these steps:

1. Scroll to the top of the page.

2. Click on the 'Home' tab.

3. From there scroll over the 'Downloads' tab.

4. Click on the 'Enclosure Designs' drop down.

I don't know if those would still be acceptable for the Zcon though. :ughdunno:

If you want more "sq" you may want to consider the xcon. It will save you some dough also.

I would follow the same guidelines as the xcon and go from there.

Recommended volume for the Zcon is just a wee bit smaller than the recommended volume for the Xcon.

First tthing I would change it running it at 2ohm, it may not be loud enough so you push it harder into dirty power. Run it at 1ohm and just have the gain down a bit, that way you have head room.

I'd put it in 3.5³-4³ with 16²-18 tuned to 36Hz-38Hz. Would give you a good low end extension and keep the upper end.

I have a feeling your use of the term SQ is slightly misplaced.

4.5 x 12.5 = 56.25²

56.25² / 3.5³ = 16.07² of port per cube.
