Recommended Posts

Like the title says, im looking at a AQ3500. im not sure if its the old one or the new one so i have a few questions i would like to ask.....

1. how can u tell the difference between the new and old one?

2. how much do they go for in good condition

and 3. is there naything specific i need to be looking for when im looking at the amp???

I looked on **** and seen them going for 550-600 shipped and i have the chance to get one for...... well id rather not say until its a done deal. let just say its a GOOD deal haha.

Did you do any research on either amp to notice the difference, there are multiple threads around the internet expressing the difference (more mosfets, power/ground terminals and so on).

Obviously the new one puts out more power, so that is the main relevant difference but will it be noticeable from the older one. Get which one you can find or afford at the time.

Old ones didn't do rated,

ACTUALLY, they did do rated.

I'm not quite sure where you base this "fact", if you look in the depths of Sundown Audio's forum you will see where Jacob did testing and it performed over the ratings.

You got a 3500.1, a batt, and a 0awg kit for $325? Something seems fishy there.

Edit* Just saw the craigslist ad, be thankful you got it before me.

That amp has to be stolen....

If you do not have proof that you purchased it.. then i'd either get rid of it or stay hidden for years....

I have no proof it's stolen but seriously... ANYONE would know not to sell that amp that cheap unless they said it was broke...

It works just fine. And I don't plan on getting a different amp for a.long time. This has PLENTY of power for what I need

oh i'm sure it's a great amp.. i'm just trying to let you know to be cautious....

If someone files a police report, for example.. u get pulled over for noise ordinance violation.. they determine amp in your car is stolen....You get in BIG trouble.

This can happen if that amp is stolen... Just letting you know my point of view.

So point is- Stay safe!

I could hide the amp in my next build. Would that help?
