Help designing a box?

hello everyone, im trying to help my friend build a box for his 2 15 inch dc xls .

he has a mercury mountaineer like 2001-2002 model. he wants it ported, subs facing up and port facing back .

the thing is he wants plexiglass facing the rear as well so we can see the subs. idk if thats good or bad to have the plexiglass and port on the same side?

also if anyone can recommend a good site or program to help me do some designs .. he wants tuning at 35hz. or if someone can sketch up a design for me with measurements that would be great! please help a brother out lol.

You're going to need some dimensions, especially max width for the box. Have you designed a box before?

Typically I use a program like WinISD to figure out port length then a CAD program (google sketchup, solidworks, etc) to figure out the actual dimensions.

Are you wanting 15cubes including or excluding port?

Don't know of any reason that lexan on the port will bother it but you will have to come up with a solid way to mount it and seal it.

h=24 w=44 depth=26 . thats what weve come up with. plexi=15in? and two (each sub) ive designed but without dimensions , 15 cubes before port in thinkin L port from the middle, but what would tuning be like?

15^3ft of airspace for 2 15" sub woofers? I say go with half of that for 2 15" drivers.

Can you provide some measurements like height and width?

hey thanks man lol.

ok, music preference is like hip hop rap and dubstep, sometimes alternative, but tuning wanted is 35hz for sure,

rms is 2000rms for now , and then eventually 3500 from a sundown amp.

and person building enclosure is our carpentry teacher, hes builr boxes for vehicles before, he just needs dimensions and sketches to look at .
