Would this be sufficient?

Recommended Posts

Alright in my Dodge Challenger my lights dim pretty bad with my system in now. System is ~1500 watts. Not sure if efficiency takes place when considering this though because two of the amps run strictly at 8ohms on all channels. Anyways I just have my stock battery and it isn't cutting it, dimming lights is no good. I would really like to just replace my stock battery, I have all my trunk space available and would like to keep it that way, so this is my only option. Anyways it looks like the D2600 would be a direct drop in and the D6500 would fit if I removed the battery tray. Would either of these be sufficient enough to emlinate the dimming lights?

On a side, I have the "Big 2" Done... Big 3 is pushing it because the battery is the trunk and the car already has 2 gauge running across it, something I don't want to do.

What year? That seems extremely high for a stock car.

Edit: Haha That sounds more realistic.

Stock I believe is 170 or 180

Than why did somebody say 95 amps.170 shouldnt be problem if wire size is o gauge to the amp.

160 is still solid for stock. You should be fine with just a stock replacement. You have to try to know though.

If you have all your trunk space. Where are your amps and subs?

Last time I looked he had an IB setup and the amplifiers a processing equipment were in the spare tire well.

We do not offer a stock replacement for that application. That is a group 54 battery in the stock location. It looks like you have plenty of height clearance and pretty good clearance with the width, so the only thing limiting you is the length clearance. Not sure if you meant a D2700 when you said D2600, because we do not offer a D2600. If you can fit either the D2700 or D6500 you would be good to go.

First thing I would do is check all your connections and wiring. If you have a 160amp alt and a 1500watt system, then you should be pretty good on power. That car probably only pulls 40-50amps max for the car. Check the connections and then put in the appropriate battery and you should be good to go.
