Need a box designed.

Recommended Posts

I have 15" height with 38" width in my trunk. If it could be made down to 36" width and just longer that would be great. I'm going to be housing two SA12s on a 1500d. Specs of the site say 1.75 each at 30 hz so 3.5 at 30 should be right then correct? If it helps I always listen to rap with a lot of low notes. I currently have a design from this site for a 3.2 cube that I will build tomorrow but if someone can help me out with a design tonight that would be great. 3/4 MDF.

THANKS!

You aren't going to see much difference between 3.2 and 3.5cf. I'd use the box design you have unless you wanted something different.

I just made the design from this website. It's in the tech section called 12" dual ported 3.2. My first box build :D How should I seal the wood, my trunk gets a bit damp.

Don't use MDF to start! Plywood is much more water resistant. You must get the good stuff though. It's about $50 a sheet. Use a water proof glue. And then cover it in something waterproof, not carpet. Poly or truck bed liner come to mind.

MDF is just fine to use. Birch Plywood is lighter, more expensive but very good acoustical properties. But plain plywood is not recommended for sub enclosures.

A link to the enclosure your referring to would be helpful.
