Electrical needed for saz 2k & 3k???

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I finally found 2 amps that I'm trying to choose between for my 4 SA-10s. I am either going to purchase a used saz 2000 or the saz 3000. I was wondering what kind of electrical is needed to run power one of these 2 beasts.

I currently have a DC HO Alt that Is 110/170 idle/max and a kinetik 1400 under the hood with a kinetik 600 in the rear. ( I will also have 0 awg ran from front to back and 0 awg big 3 ). I'm not sure what is needed to keep voltage up with the 2k or 3k? Should this be enough? I'm not sure what most people have these on, I saw a few people say they had stock 90 amp Alts with just 2 large batts so I wasnt sure! Thanks guys!

I'm not going to comment on which amp to buy, but once you have an amp, install it, start setting the gain and watch your voltage. If your voltage drops a lot then your going to need more battery reserve, if it doesn't then your obviously good to go.

And don't max out the gain to see the max voltage drop you can get, just start reaching the max level before you can hear distortion.

I used a dmm last time to try and set gains. I guess one thing I was wondering is if my electrical is capable of handling a saz 3k ( as in with what i have with the ability to add 1-2 kinetik 1400's to the rear if needed) because I dont want to buy it if I can't power it any and would then just get the 2k.

Depends on your listening habits. As Stefan said, hook everything up and monitor your voltage. You can always adjust accordingly. If I were you I would get the bigger amplifier, you can always set it for less power.

Is 1 run of 0 awg enough for a saz 3000? I don't really want to mess with an amp that requires 2 runs of 0 awg

It only has on 1/0 input so why would you need 2-1/0 wires. You cant guess what you will need voltage wise if you dont even know how your voltage is acting, all cars are different and the way people play there system are factors in determining if your electrical will hold up or not.

Alright sweet! I know every car is different I was just looking for experience with ppl that have these amps and if they have like 1 or 2 or 3 batts and how low their voltage drops and if they had stock or HO alts
