Pro audio, one mid driver per door and bridge that 4ch to them. Go as big as you can fit!

Horn tweeters if you don't wanna go with a super tweeter. Personally mine blend nicely. Smaller amp for those.

No problems what so ever getting loud even at 150 plus. Multiple drivers look cool but that's about it.

This. All I have is 1 Selenium 6w4p and 1 Q-Power supertweet in each door. Tweets are capped and wired in with the mids bridged at 2 x 8 ohms on a Zed made HiFonics Eagle 4 channel for like 100rms per side. It gets damn loud and sounds so clean!

loud enough to still sound clear over 155db+ substage? thats the goal. when im doing a demo i want to still be able to hear the highs clearly.

Mark, hes talking about type R components keeping up with my substage. not type r subs being the same as zcons.

Im thinking about a pair of pro 8s in the doors factory location and some tweets in the doors also or in the A pillars.

I say go for it, my Pro's sound good for the money and get loud as well. There are other brands out there as well just depends on how much you want to spend, another thing to look at is do you want midbass or not. You can get some speakers that will be louder than the Pro's but not drop down to 80 or 100hz.

I would do one 10 before I did 2 8's Bro. The surface area of the larger driver will overcome any loss of DB's IMO and you will have a single source vs trying to work with multiple sources. Thing is about PA drivers is the sensitivity Bro. Think about this.......... a car mid at 86 db and a PA mid at 96db. On the same power that PA mid will wax that fucking ass.

If your looking for midbass you will give up some sensitivity, but if you pay attention to the specs it's not as bad as you think.

Just look for something with a lower FS and decent XMAX. For instance My 10's have a FS of 50hz and 8mm XMAX and I can get a decent amount from mine at lowish volumes if I EQ it up a little bit which is nice as I dont always play full tilt.

Now @ 150db plus it wont matter for shit because you wont hear midbass anyways. lol I chose my mids to sound damn good on music at lower volume and get loud as fuck at high volume. They do an excellent job.

Since you want to run tweeters and not horns you will need a mid that can play up high also. People talk shit about super tweeters but that is mainly because they have only herd a shitty install by people who take no time to blend it. They just set it up to be balls out loud. I have been told mine are too quiet so completely opposite of what most people say about ST's. I think it sounds good personally. Yes, horns would always be best to get a nice image, but a perfectly imaging sound stage was not my goal. Loud and clear was. Done!

Midbass really isn't a big concern. It's not my daily driver. No room for horns or kick pods.

I meant a pair of 8s total. Not each door.

I put Powerbass 4xl 8" pa mids in my doors and I'm happy with them for what I paid. I do wish I had went with something with a little more midbass as these have none (not that I expected them to)

Got ya. Check it. Excellent mids right here. Very low distortion and damn smooth midrange.

B&C 8NDL51

You could also look at 18sound. No personal experience, but they are high end PA stuff with a great reputation.

eighteen sound

Sundown? Still have not seen the goods on those, but I stopped looking so maybe the specs are up now??

Thanks Lance, I have looked at those 8s mainly because I've seen a few builds with that line and good comments. I need 1 or 2 tweets probably in the pillars that would match nicely. I've been looking around an parts express a little today.

What do you think about Jon's Bohlender Graebener Neo's?

I almost got some for myself and still might!

Super clean sound and loud...but big. I don't know where I would mount them. If I was going to make pillar pods I would probably just run some super tweets. I was trying to stay away from that though.

If the supertweeters were off axis then perhaps they wouldn't be as harsh, but may require some EQ.

Okay, wasn't sure. Personally I would never use them either, but your goal to have your highs hangs with 155db+ bass is going to be challenging, and extremely hard on the ears.

For example, a .308 rifle unsuppressed fired 10m away approaches 150db, with most of the sound ranging from 130 Hz to 3 kHz. That stings the ear, enough times and it will make speech hard to understand and differentiation of sound difficult.

im not apposed to them personally, but in this application it would be hard to fit them or horns anywhere.

the camaro is a pretty small car and im kinda a big dude. kicks are a hell no. big feet, manual 6 speed, and small car. no place for them. same with horns. i would love horns but i dont think i could make them work.
