Sinfoni Premier 1 -Line driver

Recommended Posts

So I was cruising the eBay (fleebay) and I noticed this 1,050 Line driver and I thought I would ask WHY does it cost so much?

sure it looks pretty but does that mean it should cost 1050? is this guy off his rocker or do I just not know enough about line drivers?

Sinfoni is a high end manufacturer. Ideally that would mean they use higher quality parts, better build quality, better circuit design, etc. These aren't your "mass produced in China/Korea on a generic board design" line of products.

While I don't know the MSRP of that particular unit their amplifiers and other products are equally expensive so that price doesn't seem entirely out of line for the brand.

Value however is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone is going to see $1050 of value in that particular product (myself included).

Think of brands like Sinfoni and Brax (et al) as the Ferrari's and Lambo's of the car audio market.

Impious thank you very much for helping me to understand what is going on here!

I have actually inquired through the company for the MSRP of this particular item and funny story the guy selling this item on ebay told me he got a hold of 3 of them from a sale where a distributor was going out of sale and then when I contact the company [email protected] I got the same guy answering my e-mails as I did on ebay lol!

but since I have your attention can ask you or anyone for that matter pre-amplifier needed or not really unless I am looking for a SQ kind a setup?

"Preamplifier" is an extremely generic term that encompasses an extremely wide range of products with differing features and uses.

So it would really depend on the specific needs and wants of the owner and the features of the product. Though I would not say potential benefits are limited to "SQ" systems.

Except for Ferrari and Lamborghini use a ton of exotic materials, engineering, and hand assembly which makes their costs and performance so outrageous. I think we all can conlude that even the highest price "audiophile" grade components don't warrant their prices. They fit a niche bracket so people can think and boast they have the best equipment since it cost so much.

Actually, its really simple why its so expensive. Some idiot will pay it. At least we get to laugh at him. :fing34:

There are a few of these super elite brands left. The ones that spend so much on the appearance and presentation, I really question where the money that you pay is going towards. Clearly, the ratio of performance to non-performance dollars is probably lower then most. It can be the same on the very low end also, with super showy products that are cheap. For me, the goal is to find something that lies in the middle that puts very high amounts of production money towards the quality and performance of the product, or at least that is how I gear our company.
