Wondering if NSv2 will handle it

Recommended Posts

I am building a competition van for a customer and it will have either 16 XS Power D3100s or 20 2400s (working on sponsorship), 4 Kicker Warhorse amps, and a deck mounted in rear for burps with a audio control line driver (8v). This will be walled off and strictly for Competition use only and tuned around 70HZ. The customer wants to go with Kicker Solo X 18s but I am currently trying to get him into Sundown Nightshade V2 18s. There will be 4 subs and each one will be hooked up to one warhorse at full power (approx 10k rms each sub). In the van already i have deadened the cabin (this is only modification allowed in front of B-Pillar in USACI Modfified Division), ran 2 4/0 power and 1 4/0 ground from front to rear and an additional 4 2/0 grounds to the frame in the rear of van by where the batts will be. This vehicle will have no speakers and no deck up front for starting out. I have figured out exactly how i am going to build the wall, amp rack, batt rack etc. Also we will be going with either a dual or triple Ohio Generater 275 amp alt set up.

COUPLE QUESTIONS:

Will the shades handle the burps? and for how long?

We would like to do street beat (30 second music average) will the subs handle this? and for how long?

At USACI Comps this van will qualify for 6 classes, 2 are burp classes, 2 are port wars classes (burps) and 2 are 30 second average classes. Will the subs be fine doing 10-15 burps and 2 30 second runs in a day with cooling and charging batts in between?

Little info that may help: I will be buying an O-Scope Before testing and these amps will be turned up to max output with out clipping. I also will have a very massive port and as of now seems like i will have approx 8.7-9 cubes from sub side of port opening to sub side of box. port should be approx 13-14" wide by 38-42" high (i dont have exact numbers here with me currently-plus need to do more measuring). Box will have solid 2x4 frame, 8 layer face and rear (6" thick), sides top and bottom will be 4 layers thick with 4 layers of resin on interior of box and painted. all corners and edges of box will have 6" PVC cut down and mitered in for snug fit and backed with glass chop matt for strength.

Please any ideas with the shades is much appreciated! at the end of the season if Jacob has released his new higher line subs then we will be changing to them (maybe the day he decides to release we will order). The customer has a minimum of $4500 to dedicate towards this build a month and up to $7500 if he works an extra week, so funds are no issue.

honestly this sounds like a newb question. you are asking if the nsv2 will handle xxxx watts for x amount of time when in reality no one can give you that answer. you are also giving us box size and port area before you even built it, knowing, or that you should know, testing and adjustments will be made if this is a competition vehicle.
