I'm a little worried

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is the incorrect thread. But I wasn't sure where to put it. Ok here we go. I'm planning on upgrading a lot of the parts on my car to Carbon fiber. my question since I don't have a lot of experience is, would it be a bad idea to install a Carbon fiber Hatch on my car? The reason I'm asking is because I am unsure of the strength of carbon fiber. I don't want to put it on, just to have my system shatter or crack it or something.

I thought the point of carbon fiber was the strength to weight ratio. I am sure it is stronger or as strong as the oem hatch. What kind of vehicle?

I would think that if it was built properly, you wouldn't have any issues, I would contact the company that manufactures the hatch though first and ask them.

May I ask what the purpose is? Most people want it for lighter weight and improved performance which means they won't have an audio system in their car, unlike what you see in the ricer movies and car club scene. Really though, the cost of CF is through the roof and to get good quality components will run you thousands of dollars and easily surpass the value of your car. Just think about why you want it and if you really need it before you waste your money.

Carbon fiber can be bought for 'looks' though too! I personally wouldn't spend that much just for the look, but it's a possibility, because it does look cool, imo anyways.

Just carbon fiber vinyl wrap the hatch. But each to their own.
