I have a DHD NTX-2009 4 channel amp it does 250w x 4 max output.

I wanted to use it for my mids and highs.

I bought it used $20 on craigslist, expecting there to be errors and that maybe I can fix it.

Right now I'm in a stump because I can get it to turn on, but it doesn't output sound, music. All my wires are correct and the fuses aren't blown so what could be a problem?

I'm not really good at fixing amps or troubleshooting but maybe you guys can help.

Ex. Had it hooked up in my truck wired to my door speakers and tweeters, played some music and the only output was my subs on my SAZ 1500. No sound from my speakers.

And does anyone know a place I can trust to ship it to be fixed if that is possible?

Thanks. I'd love to get a sundown 200.4 or 100.4 but the DHD can do. Its a really nice looking amp I just can't get it to work..

Thanks in advance.

Was all the wiring for the amp already there? Can you plug a different amp into the same exact wiring and have everything work?

If somethings wrong with the amp, I would probably hope its connections. Bad speaker terminals and/or bad RCA terminals or something else of the sorts. Take the plating off and take pictures and then post them as well. Maybe somebody can pick something out.

Nope. Brand new 4 AWG kit. I'll take some pics. Thanks for the reply. Be back in a sec..

im sorry.. if this sounds rude.

that amp is worth more in scrap then it is repairing.

that does no where NEAR its rated power. it will all so provide turn on and off thrump,

but if you really want to spend 200 bucks on fixing a 20 dollar paper weight then DB-R electronics,. but i doubt he will even except the repair to be shipped to him .

No not rude at all lol. I get comments like that all the time on this forum -_- lol but yeah not expecting true power just something better than my headunit and if that's the repair price if I don't fix it myself I guess I'm junkin it.

But um my sis is on the computer so pics comin soon! Pics from my phone so idk how good of quality they will be. Guts of the amp look good, it was alittle dusty but I did dust it. RCA and terminals all look fine and yes my speakers are fine, hooked them back to headunit and there was music.

This is a tough one guys but I hope to make this work.

you never want to place a speaker that is connected to the amp on top of the amp like that.

True. That's my fault. I just did it for the pic cause if I did it the other way it wouldn't fit in the pic

There could be dozens of things wrong with the amp, most of which won't show up in a couple pictures. Could be as simple as a solder joint that went bad. Could be a part failure that isn't worth fixing.

And honestly, as was mentioned previously.....even fully functional that amp isn't worth a whole lot more than you paid for it. IMO purchase something else to use in your vehicle and if you keep the DHD around, use it as a test mule as you learn more about electronics. Your best friend right now would be google for understanding the inner workings of an amplifier.

One thing you can look for is leaking capacitors. I have an amp with a bad capacitor in the muting circuit. It acts the same as yours.
