Thoughts on Tempo 6

Recommended Posts

Okay.... So this is another thread for me about my front stage... new ideas and different product..

I'm really liking the Image Dynamics (which can be found HERE)and the Morel Tempo 6 (which can be found HERE) ...

Question now is... Which would have potential for more output(volume) and retain the quality...

Doors are deadened and I may do more down the road so that shouldn't be a huge concern right now...

Amplifier is currently a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... 125w @ 4ohms....

I usually listen to volume of 40-50 out 62 on my Pioneer HU ...

Any more info needed let me know....

Help would be much appreciated....

My badd guys I forgot to change the topic title....

Just like subs, its all gonna come down to install. You will most likely get guesses as nobody has probably used the same sets in the same car on the same power. I do know those version of drivers from Image Dynamics are there top end drivers, they have more midrange then midbass, unlike the CTX models. These were used to mate up with the ID Horns. Im not saying they wont have midbass just telling you what they were geared for from what I remember from being on the ID forum.

I wouldn't be happy to pay for either. Way too much for the build and crossover components included.

Tuned in for this. You're looking in the price range similar to mine when i was looking. Interested in seeing what some more experienced members have to say

Ok Jay and M5 ....

I cannot really fund going active nor do I think I have the skill or patience to do an active setup...

I know I should really audition the components I get but life sucks and so do most stores and alot of the equipment I have I NEVER auditioned because it wasn't available. I relied on reviews and specs and wallet to determine what was going to be purchased... I bought my Icon/Xcon and amplifiers without every auditioning them, that may be bad but it's how it happened... So far no issues or real worries with that...

So based upon specs and build for the money, is there any recommendation for a good/great component set???... I think if it takes me longer to decide I can stretch to $400 for the set...

Dynaudio/Hertz/ something??? I need more to work with than just no's... Please? lol ... Any information or what I should look for in build quality of the set to know what I paying for??? Cuz they both "look" appearance wise to be solid... But I wouldn't know the difference...

I like Hertz but opinions are like assholes everybody has one. Since you say your shops suck or dont have products available to listen to then do like you did with your subs and purchase on a limb. Thats what I do with all my equipment to see if I like it or not, I dont take anybody else's word for what will sound good to my ear. If I dont like it then I sell it, plain and simple.

Yea, but have some leads is always good... Obviously everyone has different goals, but having the options of what different people liked or loved helps me narrow down types or categories or certain things to look for... You know what I mean???

Law of diminishing returns hits quickly. It is really mostly in the install so focus there first and then yes audition. If you can't I'd personally stay away from exotic cones with wimpy crossovers as that is never a good match.

I can suggest bravox for your price range, if you can Get ahold of the carbon fiber 6.5s they sound Great and get plenty loud on power. Just my opinion however!

I see I see.... Well, the most extensive I think I could do is put the speaker in the mid in the door and the tweeter in the A-pillar? maybe... But doors are deadened and a solid base...

No not really but you know what you mean so thats all that counts.

lol.... you playing me out son???? I honestly like to hear people's experience regardless of category or how specific their ears are so that I can get some ideas about what one person liked with one set and why certain ones were "better to them" .... But if I can't get that, then I guess going out on a limb might be the only way...

but if someone or some people could tell me why they liked a certain brand/quality or parts and sound it would help me decide...slightly...

Are you looking for just loudness? Or is quality sound more important?

yes for the mid... tweeter most likely in the A-pillar(the little corner of the window).... or is that the sail panel?? It's sail panel.... otherwise it will go into the dash ...

So the woofer will be off axis in the stock location. Instead of just picking a location for the tweeters, I would take the time to aim them/ pick a location for them. I have had my bravoxs in my car for a couple of months and I am still not done with locations. I am constantly trying to figure out what sounds best.

I would like to be greedy and say both... but I know that would be asking too much... I'd like better quality of sound and loudness can come at a close second place to that???

My bravox are *sorta* in stock locations, still firing in the same direction (I just cut a hole in the plastic to facilitate a home for the Mids. The tweeters are off axis and are super loud it's almost scary. The tweeters are not harsh what-so-ever however they're quite bright. Im kinda scared to hear how on axis would sound with the tweeters seeing how they're so bright. I can highly suggest then for your price range. The 6.5" mid is extremely authorative, with 11 mm of xmax they produce such great midbass and on top of that it's loud (I even said I'm reluctant to put subs in).

I just purchased IA's component set. I will let you know how those work out. Focal makes nice stuff. If they are in your budget go for it.
