Interested in Fi Sub for my boat.

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to replace my L7 10" in my 23ft Malibu boat. I have been running the L7 in a small sealed enclosure for most of the summer and been relatively happy. However I have been wanting more.

I replaced the sealed box with a 1.6 cu slot ported box and gained a bit, but still I am wanting more. Issue in the boat is no cabin gain obviously and limited space for an enclosure.

So this brings me to my question. Which 12" sub in the Fi lineup would be a good contender in the wide open environment that is a boat? I would like to keep the power requirements realistic.

My current sub is powered off a MMATS 600.1 just for reference.

Thanks for any advice.

Subwoofers and boats do not get along because you are trying to pressurize the earth at that point..most people end up yanking on the volume knobs and burning stuff up because they can't hear it...but they do not understand that 60 feet away it is very loud.

Unless you've got some way of tucking it under the cabin or something you are going to have a hard time picking up volume.

It is under the helm. There is an area under the steering wheel where most everyone puts their subs in these type of boats. this is designed mainly for stationary playing. Think "party cove" type of thing. Like I said before I have a sub already and

it actually sounds good considering the environment and the subs limitations. That being said I would like to try a Fi sub in a similar configuration as my L7 and hopefully get a bit more output.

thx

Glad you brought this up, I know you want a lot of bass, Bazooka makes some cool stuff for boats, I know thats nothing compared to Fi. But its water proof and made for boats.
