Haha...ya this is our 'Old School' hair dryer...lol...but it's the one that actually gets hot enough to work. I couldn't find our heat gun...this works and looks & sounds cool. =)

Yes..!!! Front Stage channels 1 + 2 and Rear Stage bridged 3 + 4...

I think it will look super sexy once it's all mounted into the 'Frunk' (Front Trunk = Frunk n case anyone hasn't heard of that b4) ...anyskittle... it should look real sleek I think..!

Thanks for the checking out my build log & your responses...it's appreciated..!

Ok so I'm calling it a night...I've been troubleshooting the system. I got everything hooked up(I didn't finish putting everything back just in case I had any issues). It appears that one of my MBQuart tweeters is blown...?! I've been testing the line to other speakers, swapping wires etc. So far no luck. I even have some old Polk tweets...but neither of them seem to work. Both woofers are working, and the drivers side tweeter...I'm too tired to work on it anymore. I guess I'll be calling around to see if anyone has any Quart Tweeters.

Other than that minor issue the install is coming along well...and was nearly done...it's ok...I'm sure I'll figure something out tomorrow(or rather a bit later this morning)...

Yes it is...though late, late last night I ran into an issue. My Quarts have been sitting in storage for who knows how long...well I got a bad tweeter and what sounds like worn woofer. I decided after calling around and not being able to find any replacement quarts for my setup I bought some new separates. I picked up some Morel Ovation 6. The main reason I bought them is because they have a small basket. I just barely was able to squeeze the Quarts in the door. Actually after testing it out for hours I believe they would be hitting the door.

Anyway I'll update my build log soon...possibly some now. I've also ran into another issue with my HU. It won't turn on. I'm really tired so I should probably just tackle this in the morning when I'm not so tired.

Thanks for the encouragement...it's appreciated..!

Replacing MBQuart Separates with Morel Dotech Ovation 6:

CIMG0216.jpg

So everything is uninstalled in doors(shot before I remove Quarts)...this is what my vision looks like right now...lol...

CIMG0209.jpg

Speaker adapters once again are cut(which is better, the Quarts were also very, very close to the door skin basically would likely hit when the woofer moved-they just barely hit the door skin:

Dynamat Doors(there is also Dynamat on the inside of panel you can't see..!

The old Stock Tweeter brackets are bent back to accommodate the larger tweets...

Door done and sealed back up...

That's it for now...

So the one tweet in the Quart's was fried?

Hopefully the Morels work :) The tweeter looks much larger.

Ok had to come back and give an update...

The HU is fine...bad ground...all is good...btw I really like the Clarion NX501 HU so far...touch screen is nice and so far pretty simple to use(haven't even cracked the manual yet....it's fairly easy to navigate(I'll likely crack it tomorrow though)...

So the good part. I got the system all wired(panels and amp rack etc are not completely installed in place yet...still waiting to be sure all the bugs are worked out the system first...buuuut....I just did a quick sound test and...DAYUM...this system ROCKS...so far so Good...! I'm really, really stocked so far...wow it sounds full...this two seater sports car is going to be real fun to drive and listen to music too..! =)

Ok I can rest now...!

Ttyall later..!

Yes unfortunately one tweeter totally fried...tried everything but totally dead..?!

So Far So Good on the Morels...actually it sounds really good. I'll need to tweak everything but it sounds really really full. The Morel tweets are not as bright as the Quarts(the Q's have a tendency to really scream with brightness)but overall I'm super happy with the Morels so far. Definitely way more mid bass(definitely sound way fuller). Overall it just sounds big...the Quarts were so quite...I hadn't tweaked it and like I said the speakers had some issues so it's not a fair comparision...but I do remember the Quarts well(I really, really like the old MBQuarts...was very happy with them in the past-apparently the new Quarts are not as good...or they are not being made in Germany anymore...idk).

Anyway...totally wooped...but man am I excited...this is probably the best sounding system I've put together so far. It's a bit of a different sound...but it's a good sound...again all I can say is it sounds really full...mid bass kicks...! I'm liking it..!
