I'd really like to find a alt that does 350+ on top end while around 100 at idle around ~$400-500.

I remember seeing on youtube a while back some guy supposedly was building a 700 amp alt, but never seen/heard anything else about it. I just couldn't figure out how he suppose had a 700amp and nobody else has one close to that.

Sometimes I think I bugged them so much they said to hell with it and put one man alt up. They didn't have this last tax season lol.

You never know these companies always working to fill in all the voids you just might see something before you know it.

Heres my dream worth more than the car

although the 390 is a beast, i consulted with dc and they said the 270xp is plenty for my 7K watts. I'm ordering mine soon! :dancing:

Good to hear! Not many people can justify the extra price difference but seeing what they do first hand mind boggles me. We had a customer with a mustang in the shop with 3 15s and running a crap ton of power. After 25 minutes of absolute hell on the alternator in the shop from playing full tilt the 390XP was still putting out 315 amps at 13.5 volts.. I don't think any other "390" amp unit could survive what we did to that poor thing.

I wasn't cutting down DC by no means when I compared to others options. Each has there pros and cons, only major con of the 390 is price. Lol.

Luckily, I can add another alternator easily and two with decent output should be enough for me.

But I do got a question, does DC have a 300+ with less idle for cheaper price? Since I'll have two, idle doesn't matter to me. Just as long between the two it can keep up with the duties of the trucks electrical, I'm happy. As I rarely listen to my setup at idle, and if I do, press of a button, and I'm idling at 1800RPM.
