question about the universal option on the BTLs

I know what the universal option is for but I was wondering does this make the sub weaker? I'm ordering two dual 1s and it says if you don't get the universal option then your sub will be optimized per the coil resistance. Any help would be appreciated.

The gap is machined slightly wider to accommodate a D2 coil, you won;t notice a difference, ever.

I'd get universal regardless due to the fact you're able to recone the woofer if you ever get more of them,
