rl-p vs alpine type x

Recommended Posts

a pair of RL-p 12's will be very loud, there are a few members who have or had a pair of the RL-p 15's and have been able to get them pretty loud,

keep in mind the subs you listed are SQ subs that get loud to the ear, not really loud to an SPL mic

the customer service that you will get from SoundSplinter is top notch, plus you will have subs that very few others will have

Well, IMO the X is an SPL sub and the Rlp's are SQL which with the split your asking would be the way that I would go. I am a little biased, but between the SS service and the clarity of the product I am sure you would be happy with the Rlp's. If you really want loud do the 15's in a ported enclosure...

how much room do you have?

In my experience the vast majority of the time someone gives a ratio for sq and spl they really just mean 95% loud and that makes em happy. If you want something that just bangs like holy hell then get a pair of MTX 9500s in a ported box I've seen those moving like 4". Kicker L7's are loud too. The new alpine should be really loud.

I own and RLP and its just great, the RLP is one of very few subs I would consider buying again (and this has more to do with SQ than anything).

If you want loud you might want to try a diff type of enclosure, depending on what size reqs you have you can get a pair of 12's to absolutly crush. (this also depends on how good you are at building boxes)

check out my latest post, it you put that in a car it would cross your eyes for sure!
