i'm looking at the Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer (regular magnet)

Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer

and the

Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer (neo-magnet)

Tang Band W8-1363SB 8" Subwoofer

i have 2 of the reg mag ones in a 1.6 cu ft box tuned to 28hz (a moe lester box from caraudio.com)and they absolutely stomp a$$, i would like to add 2 more subs, but i don't know if i should stick to the reg mags or the go to the neo-mags. i'm lookin to keep the box size small as possible without havin the subs choke or underperform. and for those who understand, these will be for a new box. please help

My enclosure design isn't up to par enough to give recommendations :peepwall:

I could only imagine how badass it would be to have these drivers in a PR system!!! Two 8" subs and two 10" passive radiators :attempt:

I have built about 10 boxes with the Neo 8s and regular 8s. My dad is currently running 4 of the neos 8s, and has been off a MMATS 2200 DHC for the last 7 years...

My best alignment has been .3-.4 ft3 each @ 30Hz. They really get down. The Neos have a very tough suspention and don't bottom easily...

BTW, my dad had been wanging those neos at full tilt this whole time... He is deaf in one ear and can't even tell when to shift unless he looks at the tach... That may give you an idea of the durability of these subs....

Just get the neos, you won't regret it.

I've actually been trying to decide which of these to get also. I think I've finally decided to go with the Neos. (Sorry for the thread jack.)

Hahahaahah, I just figured out that if I do get the neo's, I would 4 of them instead instead of buying 2 more the regulars

And it seems like the box needed for 4 neo's would be smaller then one for 4 regular TB's, am I right? I would like them tuned to 28 - 30hz.

How much power are each of his subs getting? I did a search for that amp, but couldn't find anything.

I think so. I used a ported box calculator not that long ago, and if I remember correctly, the neo box was significantly smaller than the one for the regular TBs. Not sure how accurate the calculator was, but according to 95Honda's info of .3-.4, it was pretty much right on (it told me .76 ft3 for a pair).

Speaking of these subs, what the hell happened to their prices on PE? The regular TB's went up almost $20 and the Neos almost doubled. :WTFBubble:
