Let me know what you think, or have any questions, I may or may not be able to answer, but I've been dealing with these faulty machines for a while now lol. The best "quick fix" I have been using for a while now, is the Q-tip trick. Simply stick a q-tip in each fan behind the console for 5 minutes, you will notice two red flashing lights, pull out, let cool, and then power up :)

Any comments are welcomed. Cheers.

Had one when they first came out and it crapped out after a year or so. Bought a new one a few months ago with the Kinect bundle (Figuring they gotta have it figured out 4 years later) and it got the red rings during the first movie I watched. 360's are absolute pieces of shit.

Other than the network getting hacked recently my PS3 has been perfect lol, honestly unless you're a hardcore online gamer I think the PS3 is much nicer. Cant compete with Live though

The psN got hacked 3 times btw

The xbox is a good system. But the manufactured flaws do hold it back from being just like, the best system ever. Again, try the qtip trick I stated, and it would usually last a while before craping out again, and in that event try it again, and then it may or may not work, but just try it. Or, you could follow some of the tips from llama, or the other site I listed. It really just depends on how much work your willing to do, you can fix it permanently, but takes some time.

Oh, And I love the Kinnect, I just admire the technology behind it, I guess thats because I love technology in general. It sucks it RROD on you though... Those things are a bitch to take a part. If you just got it,then it should still be under the factory warrenty. Also, the place you put it also has a HUGE factor, try to give it room to breath, like you would for a subwoofer or an amplifier. Not against any walls, nothing blocking vents, and don't have anything covering up the power supply, (the brick). Also, Newer games take a lot out of that GPU that was made what, 6 years ago, so, just be aware that newer games like Halo reach, All of the new CODs, all of those high processed games take a lot of energy to play, so keep that in mind.

My 360 just says 'open tray' and acts like there's nothing in it. I can't play anything and it sucks teh ballz. I liked cartridge systems much better, wish they'd bring 'em back :lol2:

First, determine which drive you have. Use this link to help.

Sometimes, its the magnet that has gone bad, could be the motor, it could be the rails that simply just need some lube.

Lol, even with the cartridge systems, you would have to blow in them sometimes, or, grab a q-tip, some alcohol, and rub the q-tip across the little gold teeth lol.

I have a ps3. And aside from the hacking that happened... no problems. Ut I do wish I had an xbox... ONLY cuz my friends have them. But I would never buy it for that sole reason.

Take it apart, if you don't know how, its very easy and simple. This is where youtube is your friend. Just simply grab some q-tips, and alcohol, and if you have WD40, use that, I don't, so instead I used a tab of soap. Use the q-tip and alcohol first to clean the rails, you will know what I'm talking about once you open it up. Also, there is another gold swirly thing that the Lens slides up and down, clean that as well. Now, once you clean up all of the build up, use whatever you have to lube up the rails and that other swirly thing. This should fix it, if not, let me know.

Xbox has a lot of games out there that are really fun. Again, that is your reason for not wanting a 360, but IMHO, the 360 overall is simply just a better system. With the media center, you can watch live tv, media from your pc, netflix, etc etc. Of course, the ps3 has its advantages as well. But, just my opinion I guess.... The kinnect is bad ass as well. Just think of how innovetive this technology is. Think outside the box, not just for gaming, but this technology is gonna blast off, helping the ill, helping children, creating robots. Just youtube Kinnect Mods, crazy shit like rendering 3D imaging and self flying helicopter to active camouflage, the shit is legit.

Thats not the problem lol. They rushed it out, thats the only problem, and is still in a better shape then the ps3. Sony invested soooo much money in the ps3, and look how long it took for them just to earn their investment back. Sony in general is not in the best of shape ATM, at least I don't think, just something I heard about. I love my xbox, always have and always will, no matter how faulty the hardware can be, because its all about the content.

You do realize that one of those "hacks" or "security breach" were internal??? Yes? Which means that anyone with access to your information has the capability to copy it regardless of security used..

Why do you think there are so many identity theft companies out there right now? lol...

When you connect to a "private" server for games they can get certain information beyond your USER ID.... Just FYI .... :eek5wavey:

I have media(movies, music), streaming, Netflix, oh, and free online gaming :dancing:

I'm just trolling though, enjoy the system you prefer, for whatever reasons you want :fing34:
