Recommended Posts

Prototypes completed over the weekend way ahead of schedule and I'll have them soon !

If these looks beefy to you for a "shallow 500-watt" driver -- they should... the magnet slug is a full 7" diameter x 1" tall slug -- half of the current SA woofer. So it has some heft !

I've been following sundown since 2009, while I have not had the opportunity to buy anything, I have been going back and forth whether to get the E8v2's or the SA-8's as I have a 4 door chevy 1500... I have really been thinking of doing 4 e8's but now I'll just wait!!!!

As always sundown is pushing the limits and providing the products that the consumers are really wanting and at PRICE that we can live with!!!

I love companies that invest there time in making sure that the customer is always happy!!!

Sundown FTW!!!!

the sa 8 kills i only have one in my truck and it's unreal and the customers service you get from sundown is second to none.

I am assuming from previous info that the XMAX will be 12mm?

I'll be keeping my eyes on this.

Sorry if I missed it, but do you have enclosure size recommendations yet?

Early price estimates -- MAP price (actual price paid from dealer)

(SA cost for comparison)

SA-10 v.1 : $185

SA-12 v.1 : $195

SD-2 10 : $150

SD-2 12 : $160

Pre-ordering would be something like :

SD-2 10 : $115

SD-2 12 : $125

That would be shipped in the continental 48 states.

Once I do some testing we'll have an ETA and a time when pre-ordering will begin.

What amp are you going to recommend for a pair of these?? As I've read all of your subs can handle more than what they are rated for, but being as these will be strictly for a daily driver I'm wondering what amp and at what impedance should we run a pair on without voiding the warranty but still getting the full potential out of the subs...

Thanks!!!

You can use an SAX-1200D without turning it wide open -- would be a great match.

We are also working on both a 500-watt and an 800-watt amp for release possibly next year... the 800 would power a pair nicely as well or a 500 on a single.

Nice prices, these should be great for people with pickups looking for a little low end extension.

Measured specs on our WT2 :

Fs: 35.0 Hz Hz

Re: 7.4 ohms ohms

Qms: 6.00

Qes: 0.60

Qts: 0.55

BL: 22.5 NA

Vas: 29.43 L

Le: 6.58 mH

We used a bit different surface area calculation so our VAS varies from the factory measurement. Also our system measured DCR a bit different too. The main point, though, is that Fs and Qts bothe dropped and the CMS is now close to the goal of 0.12 mm/N

I'll measure them all as I get time to break them in for "official" specs on our WT2 device.
