help voltage drop

im having major voltage drop and headlight dimming

i have a rockford fosgate t1500-1bd and a power acoustik 1000max 4channel

have stock battery and stock alt, all in a 2000 chevy silverado single cab 4.3L V6

also have big 3 done with kolussus fleks 1/0awg

would a bigger battery help, like a kinetic HC2000, help

or what should i do

Double check the size on the HC2000 before you stuff it under your hood (if thats where you plan to put it). I was BARELY able to fit my hc2000 under the hood in my 97 tahoe. There decent sized battery's.

Personally i was in the same boat not too long ago with my s10..1500 watt amp + highs amp, big 3, stock battery, all 1/0 and what I did was add a gel cell to the rear leaving my stock up front battery. My voltage drop for the most part was gone. Other's may tell you to start with the under the hood battery which probably isnt a bad idea either. Guess its up to you. I would for sure go with a new battery though.

i would love to add a second battery, but i have a single cab, there is enough space to even fit a ported box for 10s and both amps,

would the kinetic hc1800 do a good job as well, and how are the measurements for the hc2000, i have them, but got confused on which side is which

Dimensions: 12"x6.5"x8.2" for the HC2000 HC2000

12 inches wide..I would say 8.2" tall because its taller than it is deep, and 6.5" deep.

Don't bother, caps can't store enough power to help anything. Theyll just constantly discharge and put more stress on your batteries and alt.

What is a good battery for under the hood with a t10001.bd and T400.4. I'm experiencing too much dimming and voltage drop in my chevy trailblazer 4.2 I-6. I've looked at optima yellow top but it doesn't seem to apply to my vehicle

You should Contact DC Power Enjineering for a bigger alternator. There is no way your stock alternator can handle a t1500 bd. That thing could probably use up250 amps but your alternator can only put out 120. DC Makes them that range from 275 to 320 amps.

If you get a HO alternator you will notice that your voltages will increase and they will be much more stable.

He said he had a T1000bd, not T1500bd. His amp probably never pulls more than 120 (conservative) at most and I highly doubt a T1500bd could ever pull close to 250 amps (probably not even 200) in a real world setup. DC Power also makes more than just 275-320a units. Please pay more attention to what you're reading and stop posting misinformation. That said, a good HO alternator will definitely remedy your voltage issues

Sorry, I know this post did not pertain to you, in your case, I think I large kinetik would help but I doubt it will fix your problem. If you add the battery and turn the gain down, it might work out for ya. If you really want to keep your voltage up in the 14s though while giving your system a good workout, you'll likely need a HO alternator. The nice thing about upgrading your alt is that if you get a good one such as DC Power and get a fairly high amperage unit like a 250 or better, you probably won't need the extra/upgraded batteries on your current system.
