Quote for 12" Alpine type-R

Recommended Posts

Hello i was told by a friend that this is the place to be to get very good box made.

I have a 2002 Toyota Camry and need a box for a single sub

i have a 12" Alpine Type-R (SWR-1243D)

My friend knows a little more than me and says that the specs are 2.2 cubic feet tuned to 34hz, and it should have a double baffle and flush mount. im not sure how big or small i should go with the box, but smaller the better so i can have some room in my trunk.

Im not sure if i should go ported or sealed. I want it to sound the cleanest it can, instead of just being really loud.

zip code: 63130

my email if any questions: [email protected]

im new to this site so just let me know if there is anything else you need to know. Thanks for the help

If you are concerned about sound quality then I would go sealed but if you are looking for output I would go ported. Which ever way you go I am going to need your max dimensions so I can make a design. Let me know which you would like to do.

I am going to design a ported enclosure tuned to 31 Hz to give you a good low end.

Alpine recommends 1.5 cubes but I know that is a bit small for most applications so I'm going to make it for 2.0 @ 34 HZ.

For a 2.0 cube enclosure with carpet your looking at $150 plus shipping. I would recommend flush mount also to add strength and it looks pretty cool also. With flush mount the total comes out to $155.

I'm going to do like 33HZ. I have been reading that is the happy middle point Type-R's like.
