Alpine Imprint without Tuning Kit?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I will be using the Alpine Imprint Module with my Alpine iDA-x305S. My Question is, will I have to use the disc and mic tuning kit (KTX-H100) for tuning or when I plug the unit in; will it unlock all the tuning features of the imprint and I can tune it manually? because that's what I would prefer..

thanks.

On my Pxe- H650 I needed to use the mic and CD on initial set up, but then you can fine tune the crossover points, slopes etc no problem

I know on the Imprint once you use the Imprint you cant go back and change the crossover points, unless you exit the "imprint" mode..I guess that just answered my own question..

Once you plug the PXA-H100 into your head unit it will unlock the manual controls for the x-overs ,EQ, and T/A. NO need for the KTX-H100 tuning kit. The mic and discs function is for auto calibration. The laptop program lets you pick and download two (out of 3) auto tuned FR curves. You can switch between the two auto tuned settings or back to manual with the push of the imprint button on the HU.

I didn't care for the auto tuned settings, they where way to dry or sterile sounding for my tastes.
