Help 2 RF P'3 vs polk DB's vs FI single BL 15

Recommended Posts

First if im wrong about any of this feel free to tell me, but make sure you explain dont just tell me im incorrect explain why I am.

Ok I need to figure out what type of sub/subs I want to get so I will give you a little background on my preference of what I have heard and what I like my first friend has some very cheap Polk 12 inch polk db's in a small like 2.8cft ported box and when im in the car his subs aren't that loud but when im in a building and he pulls up I can tell instantly he's bumping even though im in the middle of the building and he's no where near, now on the other hand I just bought my first pair of subs and they are Rockford Fosgate P3's 12s and I put them in a 3cft sealed box and Im using a JBL1400 pushing 1500RMS split for 750RMS to each now when im in my car the bass sounds much louder then his polk dbs like someone pushing on my chest but once I get out and walk inside of a large building I can bearly hear my subs bumping.

My question is what subwoofer do I need to get so I still get that feeling of someone pushing on my chest super loud in my car yet if I wanna vibrate pencils inside of a building I can still do that??

I want to go ported now and I cant figure out what subs to get and how big of a box I would prefer to go with a single box Im thinking Bl 15inch with dual 2 ohm and wire it to 4 ohms because there actually 1.4 ohm coils which means I would push it at 2.8 ohms with my amp which would be around 1300RMS.

also my car is a 3g eclipse hatchback im pretty sure the max box size would be like 5cft and I have heard some say bigger box louder smaller box louder and I don't know what to believe so I figured if I give all the info on my system I can get a true oppinion

ok ok ok...im going to say it before one of these other guys shows up and rips your head off for asking some newb questions. Look kid there is no magic woofer that will all of the sudden make shit in buildings rattle. Im going to follow my gut and say that you buying some BTL isnt going to do shit for you.....SO lets start by asking a few Q's and ill see if I can help you out a lil. Have you done the BIG 3 yet? Have you tried to run those P3's in a ported box? Have you played with box positions yet? Do you know what you voltage is at full tilt with that amp? Are you sending a clipped signal or a clean one to that amp? If you can answer yes,yes,yes,14.1,clean in that order THEN AND ONLY THEN would i even think about suggesting you get new equipment, but if you answered no to just one of those I would be spending that money on building a good foundation for a ground pounder

If you are fir real fir real about getting loud ill try and help you out just post back with some more specific info on your car, subs, amp, box, etc.
