Hi,

I want to upgrade my amplifier. I have a Sundown 1500 now. And I can sell it easily (I hope so !).

I want more power for the btl N2. the sub is in a ported box : 2.1 ft3 at 32 Hz.

* I like the Sundown 2500 but it is not in stock, maybe on some e bay stores though.

* I saw the Stetsom 2k5, but I have never run stetsom, and I don't know. there are not so much reviews about them. I only sam people usingthe most powerful ones for comps, on videos.

* There are several Soundstream, like the Rubicon or others.

* There is a Sundown 3000 at db-r too for a good price too !

The amp will be hooked on a Kinetic HC 1200 in the cargo arera, with a stock batt and a stock alt under the hood. everything runs fine with the 1500. Maybe I'll have to upgrade something with more power. I will see when it's done.

Give me your opinions , please. I'd like to hear more about the Stetsom amp.

What would you do ?

Ooh, and the budget : 700 - 800 $ max for the amp itself. I'll add shipping and taxes later to have the final cost.

Thanks guys,...and gyals !

Sundown had some forsale used a while back? It was in a sticky in the Sundown section.

If you like Sundown, might as well stick with it.

Or you could always buy another 1500d.

All that you have listed are nice amps. I run a Sundown 3500 and could not be more happy with it. Ask TeamRamRod on the here how is Stetsom amp is working. You could try the AQ route also. $389 for the 2200 or $749 for the 3500. I do not know if they would ship to you? Whatever you do let us know.

Looking forward to an update.

Audioque won't ship anything to me, because they do not have a repair center in my country ! :puzzled:

I can't add a second saz 1500 : the sub is DVC2, so 2 saz 1500s strapped will give me 3000 at 2 ohms, not at 1 ohm. And I have the v1 model, not the available v2.

What do you think about the Cadence ZRS c something series ? Powerful, reliable ?

I did not have the money when the used 2500's were sold by sundown directly. That was a fantastic deal !

I meant find a used 1500d. Run it at 1ohm strapped. Lol.

Check classifieds. Even though if your in another country, it will be hard to find somebody to ship to you, but if you plan on selling yours on the forum shipping wouldn't be worth it.

I vote buy another 1500d, strap at 2.8ohms until you get your electrical upgraded, each amp will see 1.4ohms. The BTL should handle that nicely.

I usually don't suggest running below 1ohm. But with you it will be cost effective.

Here are a few mono block amplifers that I like in that power range.

1. Sundown 2500

I really like Sundown products. Their amplifiers are the best imo, but are not cheap$$$$

2. Crescendo 3kwp (I have this amp)

Crescendo is releasing a new line of amplifiers. They should be competitive with Sundown and

cheaper.

3. Stetsom 2k5

I like these amplifiers because they are small and are ridiculously effeicent. Based on price and size

you can't go wrong with these amps. This was originally my top pick but I bought the Crescendo

for $100 less second hand brand new.

So if you have the funds buy Sundown. If you can wait till Crescendo has their new amps out then you could buy a comparable (to Sundown) for less coin. If you want a small amp that takes up less space then Stetsom has you covered with a cost between Sundown and Crescendo.

@ford302redneck : I don't know how to strapp 2 saz 1500 to get the Ohm load I need. I don't want to run those amps below 1 Ohm. Not for warranty issues, but I don't want to fry anything. I take care of my stuff, and so far, I've never burnt anything : no amps, no subs, no speakers. And I want to go on like that.

I sell all my equipments LOCALLY only. And I buy from the USA, always brand new in stores, so far !

@ Nick_19 : I can wait, but I need a deadline ! You know what it is when you have some money. There are always bills, and things to do with that money ! For $500 it would be fantastic !

@ edouble101 : I don't want Crescendo, I'd rather have a Stetsom. (I love Brazil !!!).

There is a saz 3000 at db-r : I wonder if I can run it. It must need so much power to run right ! But the price is good.

Stetsom is known for making bulletproof amps if u stay above 1 ohm.

They can handle low voltages quite good and will supply enough power at 1 and 2 ohm, they are very efficient amps. :peepwall:

My bad, I think you have told me that before. I would try and get a Sundown amplifier. Hey if you get a 2500, 3000, or 3500 that would be ideal. I got my 3500 for $750 used. You can always turn down the gain.

I think with any more power no matter if it is a Stetsom or a Sundown you will need at least more battery reserve and a good battery charger or a HO alternator. If you set your gains cautiously you could be OK as is.

I am running my 3kwp currently set for 1750wrms, about 41v at 1 ohm. I have a XS Power D3400 under the hood and another D3400 in the trunk. My voltage stays around 14v if I keep it cranked for a song or two using the factory 90a alt @13.8v.

If I had the 3kwp set to produce max output I would probably see lower voltages.

I also have a XS Power battery charger that I use once a week.

I don't know what alternator I have, but I know it is strong enough for my current system ! I always check my voltmeter in the cig lighter, and I have another for the rear Kinetic battery.

I have the same numbers everyday.

I listen to my system for my commutes : 30 minutes max to go to work and the same to go back home.

I don't do demos, or for 1 or 2 min only. My system is not big/loud enough to attract people for loud demos on our friday night meetings !!!

I've just received a quote for a SAZ 3000 from db-r. I need to think about it some more.

audiopipe aqx2500 :) $333 before shipping.

Fantastic price, but I don't want Audiopipe. It's just me, I'm not saying it's not a good product.

Thanks a lot.

Keep throwing ideas !

I said strap at 2.8ohms. Each amp will see 1.4ohms.

That should yield 2500rms, and you only got to spend less than 400 dollars if you buy a 1500d used.

DC Audio just dropped there amps, there at great prices as well. Just find whats in your budget and what will ship out to you since that seems like the major issue you have.

I will take a look at these Crunch amps.

I don't know where to find the DC amps, I need to look at their website.

Thanks for all the ideas, guys.

I'm not in a hurry, even if the money is burning my pockets !!! I need to wait and think seriously about what I want to do.

But I have no problem with shipping, I know what it is, and I pay what I have to pay to receive my equipments. I've been doing it for years now, not only for car audio !

One more thing : how can I strapp 2 saz 1500 like Frod302redneck said ? 1.4 Ohm each ? How can I do that ?
