The Type-R has a big "cult" following on CA.com They don't get too much talk on here. For cheap subs that perform well, I am a big fan of Pioneer. THe TSW-305DVC, or 306DVC can eb had at etronics.com for between $50 and $60 and they sound excellent and have great ability to get loud even with lower power. I've used several in the past and if I need an ultra cheap budget sub, this would be the route I would take.

I also happen to know of a place clearing out some very nice JBL GT120s for $120/pair. I've had several of these as well and they are great performers too. I'd put either of these drivers up against the Type-R anyday and at half the cost.

Wire it up in series, but in doing so, it will only receive half the power.

Where are you located? Maybe we have a member in your vacinity who can help, or you can attend one of the meets happening near you if there is one.

Don't know if they told you this already or not, but basically this is what you need to do is run a wire from one coil's positive (red) to the other coil's negative(black). Then from your amp, run a wire from one channel's positive(+) to the free positive(red) on your sub. Then from the free negative(black) on your sub to the other channel's negative(-) on the amp. So you aren't running your left channel, or your right, but yet the + and - that it says to use when bridging

wait i just noticed that you have a two channel amp unless i read wrong. Just hook up one channel to each coil....thats assuming that they're playing mono and not stereo though, someone else here will be able to tell you if that'll work "ok"

Reece(from ca.com) and myself are probably the cloest people to her. I'm sure I could help out if needed. It will probably make sense for someone to show you rather then it being explain over the internet. I learn better if someone shows me rather then reading.

if you go to one of the meets however, the cloest would probably be dallas, lots of cool peeps up there.

I think if I ever need help on something fast, I will just make a new SN saying I am a girl then suddenly my posts will turn into 3 pages of help in a day. That would be nice.

Just kidding guys.
