Well, I'm pretty much excited right now. Just ordered my new BTL N2 18 a few minutes ago. Just wondering if you guys think an aq2200 will do the trick of supplying this beast with the power it needs, and if not, feel free to give me an affordable suggestion.

Also, do you guys think a high output alternator would be necessary for a late 90s Tahoe if I wired another battery in the trunk?

Depends on your listening habits

Are you going to be playing at full tilt 99% of the time? Or just for short demos?

What battery were you looking at for the rear? I'd get the biggest xs power or kinetik you could afford, watch your voltage at full tilt, if it's consistently low, get a h/o alt.

I'd go with an alternator. I have a h.o and 1/0 big three done, and I'm going to be getting a second battery too.

That Audioque can suck some power, and if you're like me, it's loud almost all the time.

That AQ 2200d should be a great match with the N2. I'd upgrade the big 3 with 1/0, replace the starting battery with a 100ah or bigger and add the biggest battery you can afford in the back, preferably a 100ah+ should do it, nobody really knows for sure though.

that AQ will power that btl just fine. I use a sundown 1500d on mine and it sounds great. H/O alt inst a bad idea. if it fits in the budget i would do it.

What is considered low voltage?

Also, who makes the best (affordable) alternators? I know of Iraggi and Excessive Amperage, but that's about it. Are there any companies that are better?

Could you give me the best link you can find for instructions on the big three? I can barely remember how you do it. Pictures/diagrams are preffered.

Could you give me a link to an acceptable battery for my conditions? There are so many, I'm not sure which one is the best for car audio...

1 run an extra cable from battery negative to ground

2 run an extra cable from engine block to ground

3 run an extra cable from alternator to battery positive

It's usually very easy to find/do this, all the wires are already there, you just identify them and add a bigger wire to the factory grounds/power

If your voltage drops to the 12s then it's relying on your batteries for the power, which means there being drained and not charged. If it's in 13s your batteries are getting some charging but should be fine.

xs power batteries are great, I'd get the biggest one you can fit / afford.

Also, DC Power makes excellent high output alternators

Although there sometimes difficult to get a hold of, but in my opinion as pissed off as I get when I can't get a hold of them, their products are worth it.

stay away from DB Electric alternators! lol. Pieces of junk if you ask me. go with a reputable brand of alternator.

Do I "add an extra wire" on top of the wires that are already there, or do I completely replace them? And I should use 0 gauge, correct? There seems to be a discrepancy in step #3 on the link that was provided.
