What are the benefits of using aeroports rather than a standard port? Are there any negatives? Just trying to learn a bit more before I waste my time building a new box. Thanks for the help guys

They are easy to use, especially with the flange that allows easy installation. They also cut down air turbulance... They don't perform miracles, but they are worth the few extra buckes vs. regular ABS/PVS pipe IMO.... Especially if you are really limiting your vent area due to space constraints...

I have been using them for years, and have always like the results when I chose that type of vent...

Aeroports take up less internal volume than a standard slot port.

Aeros also cost money and don't brace the box like a slot port can. They're also much hard to get a low tuning with because you have to get elbows ad more pvc to bend the port inside the box...this also costs you more money as well. IMO not worth it, but I have all the room in the world to do what I want so space isn't an issue at all.

I hope building a box isn't a waste of time. At least learn something from the build, even if you don't get it right.

I would say the only negative of using them is the cost and not having the "brace" that slot ports have. But how hard is it to put in some dowel bracing where the box really needs it, which would help in either case?

I dont mean a waste of time in a negative way actually lol. I would just rather learn before I begin so I do not waste my time on bad design. Yeah bracing wouldnt be too difficult at all but I am looking for low tuning around 30 hz so idk if the aeros are the best option if I cannot tune them low without difficulty.

Port length does become quite long when tuning that low, which is why I just use slot ports. I generally tune around 28-30hz, so I end up with some pretty long ports most of the time.

In a single chamber, dual sub ported box, are there any negative effects of having one driver in front the port and one placeed after the end of the port?

You dont really want the subs firing right above the end of the port, on the inside. Causes turbulence/cancellation stuff
