Sae-1200d v.1

Recommended Posts

Just picked up a used sae1200d from kevin s.

I am in love with this amp. Never never never has my sub sounded this good. It's incredible.

Excellent build quality. I'll post a full review once I get a couple of days of playing in. But for now, great product Jacob. A little dated or not, I dont think I'll be straying from sundown anytime soon.

As of now, I have an old splw-15. Definitely not for long. And the best amp I've used is a kicker zx1000.1.

well generally more power=better sound, of course assuming its not pushing the sub to distortion, or a clipped signal.

oh i know that, im not saying that.

dont take this as sundown bashing, but the amp does more power than the kicker, they should hit harder, sound cleaner, etc.

not that the sundown is better, or the kicker is better, but if the kicker was 1200 watts u prob would not have noticed much a difference.

unless kicker amps just suck which i doubt

Cruzer, you're fine. I actually never ran the splw on the kicker. Forgot to mntion that. I had it on a old 600 monoblock. I forget the brand, its een decomissioned for a while I can actually only run it at 2 ohms though, so it's only seeing about half power as of now.

Be sure to have that thing mounted securely. You may even want to consider putting some deadener on a sheet of MDF and mount it like that. I know those v1s had some problems with vibrations. I loved my SAE-1200Ds but never had any luck with them. I hope you fair better than I. Sundown has great customer service in any event, though. Jacob helped me every step of the way with all of my problems which made me a customer for life on all my future purchases. (provided I have the cash for it. :P lol) Enjoy that amp buddy!

Yea, I've been thinking about ways to combat the vibrations. Thanks for the advice on that! I definitely want to get as much life out of this amp as possible.
