Need a big amplifier

Hello,

A friend of mine is asking me what can he chose for his new amplifier.

He compete in spl, but want to play music too, so I think he should not get an amp to play at 0.5v daily.

He has 2 18" subs (I guess Soundstream) with VC of 1.2 ohms. He can have a load of 0.6 or 2.4 for each sub, so 1.2 ohm for both.

He will keep on upgrading the electrical system, but already has some AGM batteries in the car.

I just thought about Stetsom amps.

What brand should we look for ? What amps ?

budget : let's say $1500 for amps. He will have shipping and custom taxes to pay.

He's in a hurry, because the next local comp is on 02/20/2011.

OO i didn't even notice you were in martinique! how is the weather over there? also you can e-mail them about shipping or i think woofers etc has this amp for a bit more but they might be better for shipping reasons to pick!

If you wanna use it daily, I wouldn't use Stetsom LOL $1500 isn't gonna get you a real 6000 watts brand new, at least not in a single amp.

If they have to warranty 10% of their amps, they'll be out of business the week after. That's assuming they actually do what they claim. You haven't heard anything from Diablo Audio since the transformer fiasco, have you? That's because they closed the doors.

You could do four SAX-1200d's and get about as close as it gets. Strap each pair @ 1.2 ohms.

Also, I could get 4 of them out in time.

Emplyment rate is bad here.

Lots of young people unemployed, but we have social security and everything you can have in France.

People are nice, girls are sooooo beautiful !!!!

But..............we speak Créole and French. No problem to find someone speaking English though ! We learn it in school from the age of 10 or even before.

Our neighbour islands (Dominica in the north and St Lucia in the south) speak Créole and English ! They are at about 30 km, maybe 20 miles from us.

We used to have a lot of American and Canadian tourist, but not nowadays. Tourism is difficult !

lol I am Canadian and I speak a bunch of french but I am much better at english! (anglish) lol

actually when I get out of school I might have to pop on by for my honeymoon! seems like a super nice place to visit!

have you thought about getting a couple Refurbished Amplifiers from db-r ? he is a good guy to deal with... and you get a year warrinty... and if you fry it, he will fix it for a super good price if you bought it from him... he told me when i bought my saz 1500d that if i screwed it up.. it woukld only be like 100.00 to totally rebuild it.. super good prices to..........
