Hello I am an amateur stereo guy in need of advise on setting my amp.

I have the gain set to 21 volts on the front and rear of 4 channel with a 1khz test tone

I have the gain set to 41 volts on the 1500d amp with a 50hz test tone

Those settings were given to me by a friend

My question is where to set the crossovers? the low pass/high pass filters the subsonic knob and the 2 push in buttons

I currently have the front channel run on the crossover on the head unit set to 100khz with a 24 slope

Rear channel is off on deck, and set on low pass on amp but not sure what the settings should be on the amp, the deck does not give me a low pass option on rear channel

The sub is currently not hooked up yet so not sure if I should use the subwoofer x-over on the deck or the amp?

I have a sundown 100.4 sundown amp, a sundown 1500d amp, and a Kenwood excelon model kdc-x994 head unit

I use my ear to set my crossovers. I set each set of channels seperately by ear and listening for distortion and setting it below audible distortion

On the 100.4 the "push button" chages the frequency (X1) or (X10) if you have it on the X10 the frequency cut off will be 10x higher than the dial is set at. You also have either a 12db or 24db per octave slope. Choice is dependent on install.

On your SAX-100.4 set up run the front channels 1 & 2 on highpass and on channels 3 & 4 run them on low pass. By utilizing the SSF filter (High Pass Filter) on channels 3 & 4 you can create a bandpass crossover and limit the frequency range in which you run your midbass.

Goal is to play around with the frequencies on then crossovers to acheive a well balanced sound.

Yup, use your ear. The fact that you're using the passive xovers on the components means you could run the front channels full range. Also, settings your gains by voltage is not a good idea, especially if it's resistive and not reactive. It doesn't matter what voltage the amps are putting out of it doesn't sound right.
