old style btl's

Recommended Posts

Too many funni shit in here.

Why does a shrunk down motor and less weight make people think 'less boom boom'?

Its yesterdecade thinking, and people lacking any real knowledge.. Not consumers, the INDUSTRY. Fi are doing something trully unique, going back and re-engineering and innovating.

Remember how big cellphones were in the 90s? how big is an iphone today? they dont even compare today.

Thats called innovation and real knowledge.

Everything out there looks cloned and like I could run to china at Manupacker it myself.

Fuck that.

I've owned both generations and I assure you that they do sound different, with a similar enclosure tuned close to what my other fi's were. While there is a lot more of a smooth presence of bass it is not "intense" by any means.... I am stepping up the power to see if that helps and then will write a full review.

I don't blame Fi for mixing it up and going in a new direction... but wouldn't mind getting ahold of some BNIB gen 2's.

I will however undoubtedly stay with Fi / AA as they provide some of the best products on the market (in my humble opinion) today.

Also - If you could get back to me via email nick I would appreciate it.

See that's why i ask questions. clearly fi is no longer for me if they take the subs "intensity" away, why would i want a lower end sub?

it all just sounds like a downgrade to me..... i dont have a system to be LOUD i just really like the heart rattling rumble i get from mine

the new subs sound good for spl but not for daily anymore "the whole reason i like my btls"

yea i think thats like the worst comparison you could ever make.... just when cell phones were almost $30 for unlimited everything the iphone made us take 100 steps back, you could get a laptop and a wireless card and a broadband connection for less than the cost of the iphone...

people that actually pay for that overpriced piece of crap are just retarded and that's whats wrong with America and why were failing, so lets not get started on inferior technology.

Don't get me wrong.... it may not be as "intense" but it is a crazy amount of smoother bass. I just haven't gotten used to it.... nevertheless I am expecting some good numbers from these subs.

The original BTL was meant to be the SPL driver, but a LOT of people have been using them almost entirely for music. It makes perfect sense to make the newest BTL sound better for daily use, while still handling the thousands of watts people want to use. For those still wanting the original goal of SPL the N3 is now an option.

If you "dont have a system to be LOUD" why don't you look for a sub other than the BTL, the SSD or Q would still be amply loud and sound good doing it.

um..dude..

more motor force dictates a saddle shaped response curve

...in short lessening a single peak, spreading it out into two peaks and a valley in the response curve.

Well when I can fit a laptop with a wireless card in my pocket I'll stop being "retarded". I'm all for different opinions. But you sound ignorant. An iPhone or any smartphone for that matter serves a purpose. Just because it's not practical for you, doesn't make everyone that has one retarded.

Posted from my iPhone.

The new BTL is no means a lower end sub, most likely the highest end sub you can get for the price.

The "intensity" he is talking about probably is from the larger magnet on the gen2 BTL causing a peak in certain frequency's.

As far as a woofer i much rather have a flat sounding woofer rather than a peaky woofer..

In order to get the heart pounding rumble usually you have to be pretty loud.

they upgraded the design and no longer build the older style ones. just the company moving forward. I asked once and I was told they would not make any of the old ones anymore. If you want a brand new btl these days you go with the new neo design. Sucks a little bit. I bought my BTL and what seemed like a few months they were discontinued. If you keep an eye on craigslist and ebay you can find them sometimes ,people just charge up the ass for them.

the new one look like cheap Chinese junk

and wetapoo doesn't looks like cheap chinese junk?

I don't understand why it looks like chinese junk, it looks and is more advanced then just a ferrite motor.

Just because it isn't big and bulky it doesn't looks american?

lmao...

i migth put my 2 btl's for sale soon , just keep an eye on the for sale forum

are they fully loaded?

yessir.. fullt loaded dual 2 , universal.

ill probably have them for sale by mid march. theyr the ufo style.
