4th Order Bandpass Build

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think of this design?

The huge ported section will be roughly 50 width, 36 Height, and 36 length all the way up to the back of my front seats. The sealed section in the trunk will have roughly 1.5-2 cubes per sub with the ported having over 30 cubes hopefully :)

Give me your opinions of this design please :) Thanks

does that make sense? :)

Looks like SPL is your goal. I would think there is an easier way to achieve it than this design.

Also depending on what organization you are competing in it might not be loudest with the cabin sealed with this setup.

tbh I am really not looking for SPL at all. I wouldn't mind but not my goal.....I want lows and a good setup for rap :) Which bandpass boxes are sick with

A standard 4th order ported will yield at least as good of results if not better.

The problem with that tho is the space....me putting the subs in the trunk gave me a lot of xtra room

They take "similar" amounts of space.

This is a complicated design. Based on your questions and posts I am guessing this is your first build. Keep it simple. It doesn't take alot of gear to get loud and boom. Build yourself a sealed up trunk setup with two 12's ported. Tune your port in the mid 30's. Quality of the build over quantity of the drivers will always yield great results.

My friend is doing the main part of the build, I am just trying to learn. He has done 4-5 walls in the past so I don't doubt how it will turn out

4th order ported and 4th order bandpass require about the same amount of space for their respective boxes

Glad you are realizing that it won't meet your goals.

Wall = Box. If you build a crappy box behind the "wall" it will still sound like crap. You need to first determine your space and then decide what to do.

I've got roughly 32ish cubes before subs and all that
