speaker pins or banana plugs?

hey guys im kinda new to wiring subwoofers so i need some help. i hear now a days people are using these speaker pins and banana plugs to wire up there subwoofers, how do you use both of them? and which one is the better to use? one more thing, what gauge wire would u use to wire 2 18" fi btl's? thanx

I would think it would be better to just stick he wire in there.

My reasoning is the pin, since the pin is hard it would only make contact on the terminal on a very small portion. I would think you would have more actual contact between the wire and terminal as the wire would compress as the terminal releases.

Those banana plugs and speaker pins are almost excusively used in home audio. A striped wire and a twist conection is all you need

Like the others said, just strip the ends of the wire and put that in the terminals, It will have more contact area with the terminals.

i was wondering the same thing. glad i saw this. what gauge speaker wire though? i have some 12 gauge but i cant get 2 wires into the terminal

Keep the 12ga and trim a little off each until they fit.
