New Setup, Need Help!

Recommended Posts

Im new to the sub game. Looking for a pretty inexpensive setup that i can play everyday and that hits hard. I was looking at Fi's products and maybe just 1 ssd 15" would be nice or should i get 2 12" or just 1 18" could do what i want. Should i just forget about the 18" because of the cost of a ported box and amp and head unit would be alot? I just basically need help on which subs to pick, amp, and head unit that would be inexpensive. Thanks.

Wow what good information you gave us. :suicide-santa:

What is your budget for these items, the car you have so we will know if you can even fit a 18" subwoofer. We need more information than you gave us. Read these threads before posting again, thanks.

18" wouldn't change head unit or amp price. You'll pay for the space and enclosure size however.

You'll have to go cheaper than SSD because even a 12" SSD will be around $250 and the amp will cost around the same. That's already $50 over your budget for just a sub and amp. If you still wanna go Fi I'd look into the 15" X. It will cost less than the SSD and require less power, therefore a cheaper amp.

sounds like you could go 18" with a SUV like that, but box size will take up alot of room. If your budget for deck/amp/sub/wires is only 4-500 then i would go with the ssd's, 15 or 18". Audiopipe is a decent budget amp also. gonna be hard to build an entire system with that budget but doing the work yourself (install, building your own box) could save you some money. good luck.

edit: a 1500 watt audiopipe amp can be scored for about $150 and some change on ebay. (ap15001) or the 1000watt version is even less.

There will be an extreme difference btwn the two. lol

15" X will sound great, and keep your budget happy. 18" SSD will also sound great but will have more output. However it will exceed your budget for sure.

15" 4.0 @ 32hz put about 300 watts on it, your good.

With the little information you gave us of your goals, then noone can really get to specific.

A 15" will require much less enclosure size therefore cheaper and saves space. Building the box yourself will save you a ton of $$$ but requires patience and the necessary tools.

Sounds like the 15" X is for me. Is this a sub that will make head turns and hit hard? and what does BP power mean where it says configure the speaker?

Okay. I know some of my friends who are good with audio that could help me build it. And you said the Audiopipe 1000watt will do me good with these subs?

BP power increases the power handling of the sub just a little. Helpful if you wanna push a little more than RMS.

I would recommend it if you're going for louder.

I'm sure you will be very satisfied with the 15" Fi X :fing34:

No offense but this really shouldn't be your main goal unless you like dealing with the insurance company when your ride gets stripped...

If you think 2 12" CVRs sound clean you're gonna cry with excitement when you hear this sub. If it's in a good box of course.
