12" DCON + Box questions

Recommended Posts

After searching for a subwoofer I have decided on the DCON 12" it seems perfect for what I am looking for. My question is regarding the box I saw the recommended plans were 2.25^3 at 30hz I think but I have plans already for a 2.5^3 box tuned for 35hz. Would the sub work well in that box or should I scrap it and just build the recommended one. I also have a 350 watt alpine amp, would it be ok to run the dcon at 350 watts? Thanks in advance for any advice/help. - Alex

depends on what kind of music you listen to, the rec. will be more flat down to 30-32 hertz, and the one you are planning will have about 2db's of boost at about 38 hertz, and will have less output below that...

Well I listen to mostly rock with some rap and techno as well. What would you suggest that I do, I'm not sure which would be better for my particular application here.

Your enclosure design and amp are fine. If you use your current plan and build your enclosure and don't like it, you can always build another. But I honestly doubt you won't like it ;)
