Just bought two blk friday X's for a home theater setup..

Woo. 177 bucks to my door. I mean how can you argue with that? Already have a 600 watt plate amp. So that's basically 177 dollars for bass in my room thats gonna easily equal the 600 dollar premade setups out there. Helluva deal. IMO

Sure the IB setup would be better, but I can't cut a hole in in my wall at the moment.

Gonna run sealed and maybe two separate boxes to position the sound better.

Do a low tuned ported box around 20Hz or so :)

I don't think you need to do two enclosures for positioning... Bass is omnidirectional to the ear, so your not going to be able to locate the direction the bass is coming from.

I would although have the drivers either fire against the floor (downfire) or corner of walls.

And a super low tuned ported enclosure will sound killer.

I always use stereo subs. It makes a huge difference. Especially for dealing with room anomalies.

I cross over as low as 60Hz 6th order on my current subs. I can tell when my daughter has turned the gain knob down on one of my sub amps do to the enequal left/righ sub balance....

Hm everyone seems to want me to go ported and tune low. Won't I be killing my sub 20 hz output if I do that?

Hm, interesting. I just modeled it in winisd at 20hz and you are right, it shows still being louder all the way to 10 hz. Didn't think it would do that!

Ported is going to give you more output across the chart, but it may not be as linear as a sealed enclosure.

Tuning to 20hz would be great for movies

Never thought about that, using two enclosures to combat objects in room effecting output to listening position
