Hey I'm new and have some questions

Recommended Posts

Well I'm not wanting to go too extreme in this car.. I will have later plans for a spl vehicle.

I will measure how much space i have keeping back seats and spare tire. brb with measurements

Without going all fancy and measuring for a fancy box that would fit perfect over my wheel wells and such,

Here is what I have to work with

19 3/4" Tall X 34" Deep X 31" Wide

The optimal Icon enclosure design I posted above should fit within those dimensions.

I have another question for all of you bass heads. I'm kinda curious as to how much of an upgrade this will be from my last system. I had a Memphis M3 15 (( NOT the mojo )) a crossfire vr602 powering it and a prefab box tuned somewhere around 40.

The new setup will of course be my sundown 1200d A Fi SSD 15 and a Custom made box tuned to 33 just for the sub..

Im just trying to get an idea of how much louder it will be. LOL i'm getting so impatient to get everything in and installed

Well, probably quite a bit louder, but it will also sound a lot better. Just remember not to rush it, take your time and do everything the right way the first time around to save you future troubles. Good luck on the install and don't forget to post it in the build logs! :fing34:

No doubt man, I will post in the build logs.

And I'm sorry for asking soo many questions but I want to get this done right.. So, In my integra which is a hatchback, what type of box should I build? I was thinking Sub facing up and a back port?

Home Depot sells wood and all the supplies you need. For wood glue get Titebond III and don't forget wood clamps.

Sub up/port back if you have the room. I think that would be the best option.

I have 30" wide X 32" deep X 19" Tall to work with

Well dam, with that amount of space you have plenty of room to work with. I think the sub up/port back would work perfectly fine.

And don't worry about all the questions, that's the best way to learn things. Read and ask. Keep it up.

Thx for taking your time with me :-)

Also Can anyone draw me up some box specs that will fit within those dimensions please?

No problem at all, I'm glad to help.

Try posting it up in the box fabrication section. I'm sure someone will chime in.

What is a good head unit at a reasonable price? it can be double din or single din, doesnt matter
