component sound dull on high volume

hello i have a factory build stereo my install was done yesterday.

i have hyfonics zeus zxi 6.5 component set the problem is when i raise the volume the tweeters and speakers don't produce the same voice as they produce on low volume they sound like someone has switched off the treble completely.

the installer told me that this is happening because the factory stereo is not giving proper output thats why this is happening.

any suggestions :-s

i know my english is not good but if u don't understand me then i'll post a video after 1 hours when my dad comes back from office.

Your factory radio outputs probably about 10 watts, which is almost nothing really, is there any distortion at high volumes? Where are they mounted?

hi duran let me explain a bit more4 i did'nt wrote the complete thing up there.

they used a small box which had option for the RCA lead output and it is connect to the amp.i don't know what is the name of that small box :-s but the main stereo speaker wire goes into that small box and from that small box the rca is going into the amp.

The component system is powered by a 200W amplifier. each side is getting 50W RMS.

they are mounted on the dash.

hmmm..i have the same component set as you and I get PLENTY of tweet actually to much for my needs. Did you mess with any settings on the amp for tuning the speakers??

I believe you're running into the problems that exist with factory stereo's today period. Lots of the manufacturers will flatten the response to reduce distortion at high volumes and that's ONE of the many reasons the units like the 360, the MS8 and other sound processors exist. You'll need to replace the factory unit or aquire one of these kinds of processors in order to alleviate this problem I'm affraid. I vote for getting an aftermarket HU myself.

Another issue could be that the amplifier is clipping and/or if the passive crossovers have built-in tweeter protection, you could be triggering the tweeter protection.

Amplifier clipping in the treble will subjectively sound like a dulling of the sound. And tweeter protection will reduce the power to the tweeter, which will affect it's output relative to the mid.

I would check the line driver (the box connected to the factory speaker wires) to see if it has a gain control and see where that is set, then also check to see where the amplifier's gain is set.
