xcon on 1000watts?

Recommended Posts

i just saw the ssa black friday sale on the 15" XCON for 289 plus shipping. even though i just got an ICON i am considering picking the XCON up. but im wondering if 1000 watts would be enough power for a while till i am able to get the proper amp for it. dont wanna do something wrong by underpowering it

100 watts would be enough power to get it to make sounds. Just sell your Icon and work on selling your current amp till you can get a higher powered amp if you still deem it necessary. Im in the same boat as you sub wise, I just bought an Icon and wanting a Xcon right now as well.

Can't under power a sub.

Wrong, you can under power a sub all day long. Clean power and a clean signal is the key, not really the power levels till you start going over the subs rms.

I think he's saying you can't as in it's no problem...

is there a noticeable difference going from 1000 watts to the 1750 rms?

To a meter, yes, to your ear, no. If you sense a difference, it's psycho-acoustics ;)

The XCON will be more loud because of it's efficiency.

I did it !

I had an Icon 15 on 1000 watts, and then I changed for an xcon, in the same box.

The xcon is louder, deeper,...You will notice the change, for sure !! and you will be very happy with it.:dancing:

Just do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
