So I just got two 12" daily Bl's and was wondering what type of amp to run them with. I have a stock electrical system on a 2001 Elantra and do not want to mess around with the electrical so I want to know what type of amp to run them with without having to upgrade. The subs are dual 1 ohm and I will be using a ported box. I also need a new head unit but i only want to spend $100-$250 on that. On the amp i'm open to spending up to $400. Thanks for your opinions/suggestions.

The new SAZ-1200?

Pretty sleek and you won't really need much besides big 3 and maybe a battery in the back

What size is your stock alt?

Are you gonna do the big 3?

....I went with the aq 2200 all you need is a couple batteries to back up the power on it if your alt is half way decent!

With the little research i did on that car, i don't think your alt. is much over 90 amps. You really can't do much unless you upgrade something. You have to do the big 3, and probably get an extra battery. id get an saz-1500d and wire your subs to 4 ohms for the time being until you get upgrades.

Try a 1500 watts amp, at 1 ohm. Do the big 3 in 0 ga. Check your voltage. And then add a second battery if you feel the need.

A Sundown 1500 at 4 ohms?!!! Wow, that would be super safe, but not too powerful!

Hey how long did it take to get your subs? Asking cause i ordered a 10" SSD no options and it's been like 3 weeks already and no tracking info yet. But going another route for now got some used jl audio w6 that i'm going to refoam and install for now.. :WTFBubble:

Thanks for the advice everyone. Now if I did do the big 3 and added a battery in the back would I still need to upgrade my alternator? How much do you think doing all 3 would run me? With those upgrades, what wattage amp would you guys recommend to use the BLs to their full potential?

I just bought a Kenwood KDC-X794 eXcelon HU and I'm loving it. Only paid $156 shipped from Amazon. Just an idea!
